Newport Beach: Bridges Installed In Buck Gully Preserve

Four new bridges that are part of trail improvements and restoration in Upper Buck Gully were lifted by helicopter over the canyon and set in place along two renovated trails in Upper Buck Gully.

The Buck Gully Reserve, a unique 300-acre area will also feature benches along the trails, new access gates and informational kiosks at each trailhead. The trail loop will be more sustainable, with the four bridge crossings over three culverts.

The reopening of the Upper Buck Gully Trails will be May 30, according to Newport Beach officials. Additional details will be posted at www.irlandmarks.org/activities as they become available.
